But in the morning early on January, 28th the wife of the writer, Anna Grigorevna, has woken up from a sight of the husband: he looked at it strange and has spoken: — Anja, I as do not sleep three hours, all I think and have realised clearly, that today I will die. The wife, of course, was frightened, has started to dissuade him, but Feodor Mihajlovich (it is visible, for a long time having solved it) has asked firmly; that Anna Grigorevna has submitted to it its Gospel — there and the answer. Feodor Mihajlovich itself a weak hand has opened sacred and for it the prophetical book where, as always in such cases, followed searches for the help fatal on the left page from above. And happens — in the evening of the same day the Great writer has died, having been in time in advance to make all orthodox ceremonies and having prepared the spirit to a meeting with the Angel of death. * * * I think, lishne to speak, but just in case I will prompt what to guess so it is possible under any book — though under the encyclopaedic dictionary or the novel Duma. But, of course, the guessing if you for this purpose choose (once and for all) the book liked by you and, so to say, the serious will be more authentic: the Bible, the Gospel, Psaltir, "War and peace", "Evgenie Onegina" … I personally guess in such a way under collected works of the same F.  M.Dostoevsky, my liked writer. When council «from the party» when I wish to glance slightly in the future is required to me, — I remove one of Dostoevsky's fifteen volumes from a shelf, I open at random and I read the left page from above — 1-3 offers. Happens, that phrases opened to sound foggy and even it is senseless, at least — I cannot comprehend their prophetical sense for me. But happens, what the book help (or Feodor Mihajlovicha?!) it is surprising as it is transparent. Here I now will tell fortunes «on Dostoevsky» — whether the destiny of the book which I write, here to this most, «Councils of the sorcerer» will be successful. I take 4th volume, with the novel «Humiliated and offended» (my opening of the world of Dostoevsky has begun with this product), I plough up — p. 28: «I have developed the book and was going to read. This evening just there was my novel the press, and I, having got at last the copy, has come running to Ihmenevym to read the composition …» Well, lines of Dostoevsky foretell-predict, what my book "will come out" — and of what still the author can dream? Besides further it is described in the novel, what big success had Ivan Petrovicha's composition, the hero-story-teller «Humiliated and offended». Give the God! * * * By the way, Dostoevsky guessed not only under the book, he also believed dreams. And, I will remind, what is it there was vysokoobrazovannejshy a person, the literary genius, the philosopher, the convinced orthodox Christian. And to dreams — believed. It had even one repeating prophetic dream, alas, — foretelling misfortune. It if the father which death was strange dreamt it (whether of heart rupture has in the field died, bypassing the rather poor possession, whether own peasants have killed). Possibly, and in day of death to Feodor Mihajlovichu the father was in a dream, only he has not told about it to Anna Grigorevne, and has decided to check up dream omens also under the Gospel … So, what such also what they at times foretell dreams to us?. <<<(P. 5) (P. 7)>>>
