Sergey Rosedkin: I am happy with the destiny
We are on friendly terms with Sergey Nikolaevichem Rosedkinym for a long time. From the beginning of 80th years when together worked in the regional youth newspaper «Komsomol banner». We, journalists of "Tag" — so named the newspaper, were young, naive, in something even, probably, believed. All of us, except Sergey Nikolaevicha. Rosedkin hardly was more senior us, for three-four years. But business not at age. And in outlook. It, seems to me, already then — the talent is talent — understood a hopelessness of our life, guessed, had a presentiment in a disgrace of day then of utter darkness of day today's, distinctly differentiated a word true from a word partijno-Komsomol. The things created by it at that time and published only today, have saved freshness of perception. They are so actual, that, apparently, are written now, in a minute, as a last resort, yesterday. What is it — outlook on life or desire to intrigue the reader? — At first there is some background. In a youth I did not think to be the writer. First my story "Birch", very lovely, naive story, has been written casually. It was printed with the regional newspaper. I lived then in Siberia. Then I wrote comic stories. Years five-six. Two or three ten from them are published. Already when I studied on journalism faculty in Moscow Meetings with this person »have been written"Supergoalkeeper", then«, «it is difficult to be adult» and other stories with tragical plots. Yes, it is my outlook on life. I every day, feel year, as nerves I feel, that the life becomes more terrible, uglier, nastier — here my liked word. The life becomes nastier, and each new day confirms it. — Excuse, but as it is possible to live with such sights, just right — to hang... And you, by the way, still write books, means, influence readers. — One my acquaintance, having read the collection "Siege", has called my wife (I then was not the at home) and has told, that it is, of course, shaken, but with Sergey something not that is created, the normal person, say, will not think up such situations. I will try to explain. You know, my idol in the literature is Dostoevsky, at school, as well as all of us, I it "have passed", but have opened for myself only in 17 years, at summer after leaving school. Took in library «Humiliated and offended», has swallowed also something in me has turned over. Pribaldel as now speak. Took it desjatitomnik, did not sleep two nights and three days while all has not read. Since then, I repeat, Dostoevsky is my love for all life. I have re-read its each thing on ten and more times. At me it is some literaturovedcheskih jobs on Dostoevsky. Now I collect-save a material for new — «Dostoevsky's Suicide». — How? Generally many literary talents thought of suicide and did attempts: Bitter, Vysotsky — it is unsuccessful, Majakovsky, Yesenin — it is successful. But Dostoevsky? — Yes, believe to me, Feodor Mihajlovich all life thought-dreamt of suicide. I to what it? You ask, as I live with such sight at the world. Dostoevsky too extremely negatively concerned the validity surrounding it. Could not reconcile, thought of violent leaving from a life. But — has lived to advanced, in general, years. And so, I try, having analysed a life and Dostoevsky's creativity to understand, how he has survived with such attitude, has not imposed on itself a hand. And it to survive most. — An unexpected sight, certainly. But explainable. Stories and to lead yours are tragic. Heroes perish physically or morally. The first impression of them, in my opinion, — a hopelessness. And the second — a rage. For our life, on ourselves because ourselves have finished ourselves to a life such. And very much I hope, that at your readers, as well as at your heroes, there will be a desire to correct this life, and that they will manage it, unlike characters of your books. — I too hope. — But we will continue. How much I remember, many years, up to the "Siege" exit, among the Tambov literary brotherhood to you there was an is indulgent-patronising relation. To touch you did not risk, all the same the critic whom print in the central editions. By the way, about many Tambov writers Russia has learnt thanks to your reviews in literary newspapers. And suddenly — the Book. About their present relation to you I do not ask. And here your relation to them? — Long years my stories were not checkpoints. Therefore I began as the critic. And as the critic I has been obliged to read all. In it my difference from local writers. The matter is that our fellow countrymen each other do not read. There is, say, book Akulinina, Kosnevich it is not read and — on the contrary. It in traditions of the Tambov literature. And I read all of them. Therefore also has written the book «From Derzhavin to...», where has more or less objectively told about the one who of that costs in the Tambov literature. Among the most perspective young writers of area I consider Anatoly Ostrouhova and Sergey Dmitriev. And generally still about 15-20 years ago, when studied at the Moscow state university at journalism faculty, I have promised: as soon as there is my first book of prose, will stop to be engaged in criticism. And has made. — Willingly I believe, because how much I remember, you always considered yourself only as the writer. Even those years when you close did not admit to the literature. And your book left in forty years. Is so, but all the same I am very happy with the literary destiny. Judge itself. I the first of the Tambov writers who studied on the Higher literary courses in Moscow, some writers tried to arrive before, but competition did not maintain. I the first at whom in capital the first book left in hundred-thousandth circulation. And I the first whom have accepted in the Union of writers of Russia without preliminary discussion in the regional literary organisation. — If it is possible, is more detailed how you have accepted in the Union? — Please. From the Tambov literary organisation me and Sergey Dmitriev recommended for the All-Russia meeting of the young writers, the first after Union disorder. On meeting have admitted only me, and to Kohl — I repeat, very talented person — have for some reason cut. And at this meeting from 180 participants of 60 persons, at whom books have already been published, passing discussion in the regional literary organisations, have accepted directly in the Union. Though, if it is fair, I especially did not aspire to it. — What ahead at writer Rosedkina? — Has prepared for the edition the collection of stories "Kriminal-show" which, give the God, leaves too in Moscow publishing house "Voice". — Means, to you does not threaten, how to some writers, to finish literary career by the first and unique book? You believe in the talent? — If it is possible so to say, writers are divided into two kinds: the first who works every day, irrespective of mood and inspiration, as, for example, Jack London or Lev Tolstoi. The second — and I to them concern — can idle weeks, the Muse will not come yet, and then as days to work. I write a little, difficultly, on inspiration. Therefore at me only ten two stories and five stories, but to a ceiling, believe, me it is still far. — I hope and believe. You consider yourself as whom — the Siberian writer, Tambov or Russian? — Russian: it is unimportant, where veins and you live, the main thing — in Russia. — There was an opinion, what writers bathe in money, and you? — I do not know, how was before reorganisation, but now at us as in the West, on the publications the writer cannot live. Unless only Solzhenitsyn? Therefore on a daily bread I earn not the literature. I work as the editor of the publishing centre in teacher's college which now became university — Who your literary idols, teachers, besides Dostoevsky? — From the nineteenth century is still Chekhov Anton Pavlovich. The unique writer to imitate to which it is impossible. It is possible to write under Turgeneva, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, and under Chekhov — it is impossible, it will not turn out. From closer to us on time — Michael Afanasevich Bulgakov, what master is not enough plot, Andrey Platonovich Platonov, the unsurpassed master of language. That did Platons with language, is a fairy tale, a fantasy. But it already other conversation. — From school us learnt, that the poet in Russia more than the poet. Also that you can not be the poet, and the citizen to be obliged. Personally I never approved poets who, having forgotten the God the given talent, have hit in a policy. You who, the poet or the citizen? — First of all and for ever — the writer. It for the sake of what I have come to this world. To me, of course, not all the same, in what world I live. But I do not want and I will never participate in this brothel which is called as a modern policy, to indulge villains who have made our life moronic.
